The NCUA has been ranked as a “Best of the Best” place to workfor minorities, women, veterans and Hispanics, the agency announcedtoday.

The annual rankings are published by DiversityComm, Inc., ahuman resources research and consulting firm specializing inworkplace diversity. It is also the parent company of Black EOEJournal, Professional Woman's Magazine, Hispanic Network andU.S. Veterans Magazine.

DiversityComm last year recognized the NCUAas a “best” place to work for women, veterans and minorities. Thisyear marks the first time the agency has been recognized in allfour categories.

During 2014, women represented 44.2% of the agency's workforceand 41.2% of senior staff; veterans represented 16.8% of theworkforce and 4% of senior staff; and African Americans represented14.3% of the workforce and 5.9% of senior staff.

In addition, Hispanics represented 4.3% of the workforceand 2% of senior staff; and Asian Americans, including NativeHawaiians and Pacific Islanders, represented 5.7% of all employeesand 3.9% of senior staff.

“The NCUA has an ongoing commitment to increasing the number ofwomen and minorities on our staff, particularly in the managementranks,” NCUA Board Chairman Debbie Matz said. “This recognition is both a reminderof how seriously we take that pledge and a motivator to do better.Our efforts to build a more diverse workforce also build a strongerworkforce.”

The NCUA also is regularly recognized by the Partnership forPublic Service as a desirable workplace for women, minoritiesand veterans, earning high ratings for leadership, diversity,fairness and employee empowerment.
