The $1.6 billion UW Credit Union in Madison, Wis., said Tuesdayit is providing loan payment relief to the 3,500 members it saidwere in the path of Hurricane Sandy.

“Upon request, members in the affected areas will be afforded upto three months of loan extension at no charge and late fees onloans and credit cards will be waived,” the 173,500-member creditunion said.

UWCU also is providing a giving opportunity for members who wantto help. From within its online banking site, members can donatedirectly to the American Red Cross and specify the gift forHurricane Sandy relief.
