In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the $294 million, 27,000-memberBelvoir Federal Credit Union has offered members emergencyassistance.

To help alleviate members' stress over finances, the Woodbridge,Va., credit union has extended a waiver and/or credit of fees forany late loan payment fee for consumer and home equity loans aswell as overdraft fees.

The fees will be waived and/or credited for Monday and Tuesday,the credit union said.

“When Hurricane Sandy swept through our area, she leftthousands without power and certain streets flooded. We areoffering these emergency assistance options as a way to bringrelief to our members,” said CEO Patricia Kimmel.

Members must contact the credit union before close of businesson Nov. 7, the credit union said.
