With less than an hour to go until closing, the numbers would beavailable later, said Zoraya Lee-Hamlin, marketing and mediaconsultant for the Totowa, N.J.-based credit union.

However, existing members showed up unaware of all the creditunion had to offer.

“Today we enjoyed meeting many new people and were pleasantlysurprised that our current members either brought in a new memberor applied for different products and services. We even had membersturn to us for their lending needs, after realizing we could dobetter than our competitors,” said Lourdes Cortez, president/CEO ofNorth Jersey FCU.

The $197 million credit union planned to be open until 2 p.m.Saturday.
