If you have a visit from an NCUA examiner scheduled for next week, don't count on a government shutdown to give you more time to prepare.

Because the agency is self funded, the NCUA would continue operating, even as most of the federal government would be shuttered if Congress can't pass a budget by Friday night

"As a self-financing agency, NCUA operates outside of the congressional appropriations process. NCUA therefore will remain open and operate business as usual in the event of a government shutdown," NCUA Chairman Debbie Matz said in a statement.
