Fiserv Inc. said it has signed its 20th Canadian user of thetechnology vendor's new Acumen core processing platform.

The $165 million Nelson and District Credit Union in Nelson,British Columbia, said the new solution will help it better servethe Kootenay Lake area, in which it returned nearly 40% of its netincome to local communities last year through its CommunityInvestment Program.

"Our credit union is devoted to the benefit of the communitieswe serve, and that requires tools that allow us to serve mostefficiently," said Doug Stoddart, CEO of the 12,500-member CU.

Fiserv debuted the Acumen platform in Canada last year as anall-new open platform based on Internet technologies and providinga 360-degree view of member relationships.

Four U.S. credit unions also have signed up to use Acumen.
