The Obama administration yesterday sent the nomination papers for Deborah Matz to chair the NCUA Board to the Senate.
|The Senate Banking Committee will review the papers and conduct additional inquiries before holding confirmations on her. She must be approved by a majority vote of both the committee and by the full Senate. President Obama announced his intention to nominate Matz on May 21.
|If confirmed, Matz, who served on the board from 2002-2005, would replace NCUA Chairman Michael E. Fryzel, who has held the post since last summer. Fryzel will become a regular board member and Vice Chairman Rodney Hood, whose term expired in April, will leave the board.
