MONETT, Mo. — A total of 720 financial institutions havecommitted to the remote deposit capture solution from Jack Henry& Associates Inc., the company said.

There now are 622 financial institutions and approximately11,000 merchants currently using the solution, which allowsbusinesses to scan and deposit checks electronically, the companysaid.

However, not many are credit unions.

“Penetration into the CU space has been minimal, since this isgenerally tied to an institution's involvement with commercialservices. We expect to see a strong growth in RDC interest amongcredit unions in the months ahead that mirrors growth in memberbusiness services as a whole,” said John San Filippo, marketingmanager for Jack Henry's Symitar division.
