The magazine selected thecredit union for its tuition assistance program and loan discounts.Other employee perks mentioned include a '50s themed lunchroom andbeing flown into the credit union's Virginia Beach headquarters foran annual employee appreciation night and costume party. Inaddition, Inside Business recognized Chartway's community serviceefforts. Staffers donated more than 800 hours of service in 2005,including flying in volunteers for Houston hurricane relief and thecredit union's annual golf tournament that raised $300,000,bringing its total to $875,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation ofEastern Virginia since 1999.
