WASHINGTON-NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson and others from the agency will be joining CUNA for a May 17 audio-conference on the chairman's proposal to reform Prompt Corrective Action. CUNA has been rallying support behind the Credit Union Regulatory Improvements Act set to be introduced in the next few weeks. Johnson's PCA proposal will be included in that bill. The proposal makes PCA more risk-based and provides lower leverage ratios for most credit unions. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the legislation and its impact on credit unions. Credit unions will also learn how they can support the legislative effort. CUNA President and CEO Dan Mica will open the call. In addition to Johnson, NCUA Director of Examination and Insurance Dave Marquis, NCUA Director of Risk Management Larry Fazio, CUNA Chief Economist Bill Hampel, and CUNA Senior Vice President of Governmental Affairs John McKechnie will be on the call. CUNA is offering the 90-minute call and audiotapes for $49.
