PASADENA, Calif. – Wescom Credit Union says it reached a newmilestone recently when the 100,000th user signed up for the200,000-member CU's Internet banking service. The growth ofWescom's eBranch service was helped along by the introduction offree bill pay last June. The credit union also has offeredinter-institution transfer services since 1999, something that manyother financial institutions are just beginning to offer, saidDarren Williams, president and CEO of $2.5 billion Wescom. He saideBranch was also one of the first CUs to offer online check imagesand statements and e-mail account alerts. “Wescom is meeting theongoing need for a financial institution to offer its membersconvenient and superior retail service that is mirrored byreliable, secure and user-friendly online service,” Williamssaid.
