NEW YORK – Property and casualty agents can now head online to renew their license. Building on last year's success in online license renewals for life, accident, and individual health insurance agents, New York has expanded the program to include property/casualty agents. The New York Insurance Department hopes that the electronic licensing will continue to save time and money in the application process and reduce the number of incomplete applications submitted. All applications are electronically checked for completeness as they are submitted. "Individual life and accident and health licensees were the first licensees to be able to renew their licenses over the Internet last June and we are pleased to continue the success with property/casualty agents," said Gregory Serio, New York Insurance Superintendent. The insurance department promises secure and encrypted license renewals with online application instructions. Licenses will be issued 24 to 48 hours after a credit card payment online or will be mailed to agents making payments by check. The insurance department has also set up a dedicated telephone help line at (518) 474-6630 for anyone needing assistance in completing the online application.
