Indiana Members Credit Union, Indianapolis, has granted special service awards to four employees whose combined years of service totals 100. The recipients are as follows: Assistant Vice President of Human Resources Monique Krider, 25 years; Vice President of Information Services Diedra Dunagin, 20 years; Assistant Vice President of Credit Union Development Donna Hasty, 30 years; and Campus Branch Manager Gail Estes, 25 years. Association of Credit Union Internal Auditors, Westerville, Ohio, has named Fort Worth Community CU Director of Internal Audit Valerie Weimer the ACUIA Terry McEachern Internal Auditor of the Year. The award is given annually to recognize an internal auditor who has made a significant difference in the internal audit profession and the credit union industry. Travis Credit Union, Vacaville, Calif., has recently honored Purchasing Agent Bob Holdner's 30th anniversary with the credit union. TCU President/CEO Bob Siravo presented Holdner with an award for his dedication. Holdner has the longest tenure of any TCU employee. Kitsap Community Federal Credit Union, Bremerton, Wash., has named Gerry Benko and Cynthia Smith as the Employees of the Quarter. Both employees were recognized for their work ethic, community spirit and upbeat attitudes. Orange County's Credit Union, Santa Ana, Calif. CEO Judy McCartney has been presented the California Credit Union League's Distinguished Service Award. Recipients of the award must have performed service to the credit union community outside the usual scope of employment and have the ability and willingness to speak forthrightly on credit union challenges and opportunities. McCartney is a longtime supporter of Orange County's "Drug Abuse is Life Abuse" program, contributes to the education and welfare of children through involvement with local schools and the Orangewood Children's Home and serves on the board of the International "Freedom from Hunger" Foundation. Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union, Broomall, Pa., has named its Riddle Memorial Hospital branch the FMFCU Branch of the Year. The award is based on outstanding member service and branch performance. In addition, Assistant Vice President of Riddle Memorial Hospital/ FMFCU Board Vice Chairman Steve Ikeler was also presented a 15-year service award for his continued participation on the FMFCU board. IBM Southeast Employees' Federal Credit Union, Boca Raton, Fla., Southeast Services Organization President Barry Hughes has been awarded the 2001 Distinguished Fellow Award from the Institute of Certified Credit Union Executives. This is the second time Hughes has won this honor. The award was established to support encourage and acknowledge Institute members who have continued their professional development /education after receiving CCUE designation. Educational Community Credit Union, Jacksonville, Fla., has named Member Service Representative Sharon Perry the Employee of the Quarter. Perry was recognized for her "show business" personality and is often called upon to sing or perform emcee duties at staff meetings to help alleviate the stress and pressures of the day. CUES, Madison, Wis., has recognized 1st City Savings Federal Credit Union Chairman James D. Likens as its 2001 DEF Director of the Year. Nominated by American First Credit Union CEO Rick Craig, Likens was recognized for representing the very best in credit union volunteerism. The award recognizes directors who set the mark for others and push on for even greater excellence. Judging was based on leadership positions held at the credit union; contributions to other credit unions and credit union organizations; professional development and education; community service; and credit union performance during the time the nominee has been on the board. CUES will donate $250 to a charity of Likens' choice. Service Credit Union, Portsmouth, N.H., has been awarded the Department of the Army's Distinguished Credit Union Service Award. The award is granted each year to the credit union that provides service to its members above the normal business activities. Some examples of the award's criteria include financial awareness or education classes and individual counseling products and services offered to benefit junior soldiers and special services or facilities provided at the command's request. ENT Federal Credit Union, Colorado Springs, Colo., Accounting/Risk Management Director Davis Johnston, director has been honored as the region's Outstanding Fundraising Campaign Volunteer by the Partners in Philanthropy. The award, which recognizes exceptional leadership skills in the coordination of volunteers for a major fundraising project was presented to Johnston for his three-year commitment to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Johnston helped organize and motivate nearly 500 ENT FCU employees during their fundraising efforts for the 18-hour Relay. ENT FCU has raised more than $74,000 in three years. In addition, Johnston has been honored as the 2001 American Cancer Society Volunteer of the Year and the 2000 Relay for Life Volunteer of the Year.
