This past week, eight credit unions from coast to coast revealednew hires and promotions. GTE Financial's HR department wasespecially busy, as it promoted five employees and hiredanother.

WEST

|

The $860 million Los Angeles Federal CreditUnion in Glendale, Calif., hired ArmineMuradyan (pictured) as vice president of humanresources. Muradyan joins LAFCU with more than 20 years of humanresource management experience. Muradyan will be responsible forthe leadership of the human resource department, overseeingemployee benefits, compensation, payroll, staffing andtraining.

SOUTH

|

The $1.1 billion Georgia United Credit Union inDuluth, Ga., hired Dan L. Trenary as vicepresident of enterprise program management. Trenary fills anewly-created role that oversees the strategic alignment andexecution of the project portfolio and other program initiatives ofthe credit union. He will be responsible for leading a group ofproject managers, process improvement specialists and businessanalysts.

The $2 billion Truliant Federal CreditUnion in Winston-Salem, N.C., promoted Chief Legal OfficerJoe Clark (pictured) to chief administrativeofficer. In this newly-created position, Clark will be responsiblefor creating comprehensive strategies for teams encompassingfacilities management and services, vendor management, digitaldocument management, enterprise risk management and businesscontinuity. He retains responsibility for Truliant's legal,regulatory and compliance functions along with collections, specialassets and project management.

The $1.8 billion GTE Financial in Tampa,Fla., promoted five employees and hired another. BradBaker was promoted to EVP and CFO. Baker has workedat GTE for more than 25 years and began as director of accounting.He later became vice president of finance and vice president ofmember services. In his new role, he will oversee marketing andGTE's member experience department. Scott DeThomaswas promoted to SVP and chief experience officer. DeThomaspreviously served as SVP of member sales and services. He willoversee administration, facilities and business continuityplanning. Chad Burney is the chiefinformation officer for GTE Financial and has added COO to histitle and responsibilities. He is an award-winning informationtechnology leader with repeated success in leading and directingtechnology and business operations. MandyZurbrick was promoted to SVP and chief marketing andstrategy officer. Zurbrick began with GTE 10 years ago as thecredit union's marketing director. Six years ago, she waselevated to vice president of marketing and promotions.Jennifer Maxfield was promoted to vice presidentof marketing. She created strategies that have played apivotal role in developing GTE's unique brand. Maxfield willoversee the introduction of new company products while assistingthe executive team with strategic company initiatives.Jasiel Legon was hired as SVP and chief talentofficer. He has more than 20 years of experience in banking and awealth of experience in human resources. In 2012, Legon becamethe vice president of people and culture for Oportun, Inc., wherehe built the company's human resources department.

The $534 million USF Federal Credit Unionin Tampa, Fla., hired Rob Perry (pictured) asthe new manager of the main Tampa branch. Perry's primaryresponsibilities will include directing branch operations whileadhering to established procedures and regulations, businessdevelopment, training branch employees and leading a highlyproductive team that meets the financial objectives of the creditunion.

|

The $1.8 billion Royal Credit Union in EauClaire, Wis., promoted Colin Boone to corporaterisk manager. He is responsible for providing leadership andstrategic direction for the risk analyst group in order to protectRoyal and its members from losses related to fraud. He will alsolead the enterprise risk management program, vendor managementprogram, and business continuity and disaster recovery planningprocess.

The $2.9 billion Veridian Credit Union inWaterloo, Iowa promoted ChristalWing (pictured) to commercial loan officer at theBlairs Ferry branch in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Wing has been employedat Veridian for 19 years, most recently as a branchmanager. She's a graduate of the University of Northern Iowawith a bachelor's degree in marketing and sales.

The $2.1 billion United Federal Credit Union inSt. Joseph, Mich., promoted one employee and hired another.Brett Wier was promoted to the newly-createdposition of vice president of lending. Wier will be responsible forall initiatives related to indirect, mortgage and business salesthroughout UFCU's six-state footprint. Wier assumes the newposition after serving as market vice president responsible forretail sales and membership growth in southern Berrien County,Indiana and Ohio.

James Pecka was hired as businessservice adviser. Pecka will provide financial counseling andproduct awareness to credit union members regarding their businessneeds and growth objectives. Pecka has a background in both thefinancial and real estate industries.
