During its holiday lighting ceremony Nov. 29, the $1.4 billion American Heritage Federal Credit Union made a special check presentation commemorating the one millionth dollar donated by the Philadelphia cooperative to the Kid-N-Hope Foundation. In 1996, American Heritage FCU established the Kids-N-Hope Foundation, which supports the music therapy program at Children's Seashore House of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Members of the $5.5 billion Alaska USA Federal Credit Union in Anchorage contributed more than $66,000 to support community food banks during the annual Cash for Cans food drive. The funds will be given to 17 food banks in Alaska, Washington and the high desert region in California. Alaska USA estimated the funds will enable food banks to provide more than 300,000 pounds of food to needy families.

Two-hundred turkeys, shown at left, were donated by the $1.2 billion Pen Air Federal Credit Union in Pensacola, Fla., to the Naval Air Station Pensacola United Service Organization for its annual Thanksgiving feast that fed more than 1,500 troops unable to make it home for the holiday. Pen Air FCU has supported this Thanksgiving tradition since the USO started it seven years ago.
