The Virginia Credit Union League has announced the results ofrecent elections for its board of directors.

Stan Leicester of the $1.3 billion BayPort CU in Newport Newswas re-elected to a three-year term representing credit unions with$50 million or more in assets in the Hampton Roads and Tidewaterchapters.

Iris Ellis of the $11 million Assurance FCU in Richmond wasre-elected to a three-year term representing credit unions withless than $50 million in assets in the Richmond and Southsidechapters.

Cliff DeMars of the $115 million Blue Eagle CU in Roanoke wasre-elected to a three-year term representing credit unions with $50million or more in assets in the Lynchburg, Piedmont, RoanokeValley and Southwestern Virginia chapters.

Carl Ratcliff of the $391 million ABNB FCU in Chesapeake waselected to a three-year term as an at-large director.

Joe Thomas of the $288 million Fairfax County FCU in Fairfax wasre-elected to a three-year term as an at-large director.

In the board's reorganization meeting, the following officerswere elected:

  • Suzanne Hodgins of the $657 million University of VirginiaCommunity CU in Charlottesville was re-elected as chair.
  • Karen Orie of the $3.5 million Hampton Roads Educators' CU inHampton was elected vice chair.
  • Rose Gilliam of the $194 million Argent CU in Richmond waselected treasurer.
  • Chris Williams of the $202 million Henrico FCU in Henrico waselected secretary.

The VCUL board also elected officers for the league's servicecorporation – Virginia Credit Union Services, Inc. – a wholly ownedsubsidiary of VCUL which provides products and services thatinclude insurance, lending assistance, shared branching, cardservices and share draft processing:

  • Iris Ellis of the $11 million Assurance FCU in Richmond wasre-elected chair.
  • Gaye DeCesare of the $309 million Belvoir FCU in Woodbridge wasre-elected vice chair.
  • Rose Gilliam of the $194 million Argent Credit Union inRichmond will serve as treasurer.
  • Cheryl Dickerson of the $2.4 million Fairfax City FCU inFairfax was re-elected secretary.
