The $380 million, 46,000-member Connex Credit Union in NewHaven, Conn., has named Frank Mancini as its nextpresident/CEO.

Mancini has been with Connex since 2003 as chief financialofficer. He succeeds the retiring John Edwards, who had been at thehelm of the Connecticut credit union for 34 years. The appointmentwas effective Nov. 1.

“With his extensive experience and his proven dedication toConnex Credit Union, Frank will be a strong leader as thecredit union continues to grow and reach out to more members withinthe communities we serve,” said Fred Heimann, the credit union'sboard chairman.

“John took us from a credit union focused on just a singleemployer in the New Haven area to what is today a $380 millioncommunity-based institution serving over 45,000 members in threecounties. His contributions to Connex are greatly appreciated by meand our entire board,” Heimann said of Edwards.

Connex CU was chartered in 1940 to serve Southern New EnglandTelephone employees and their families in the New Haven area. Itchanged its name in 2003 after it won a state community charter toserve anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in NewHaven, Hartford or Middlesex counties.
