LAS VEGAS — This year's annual conference of the American Credit Union Mortgage Association is focusing more onthe marketing of credit union housing finance programs and less onthe nuts and bolts of mortgage lending.

“We believe the word is finally getting out that credit unionsmake mortgage loans,” ACUMA President Robert Dorsa said as the conference got under way Monday at TheCosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

“Now we are focusing on helping members and the general publicunderstand how a credit union can help them achieve their housingdreams,” Dorsa said.

This conference, the group's 16th, is organized onthe theme “Making Member Dreams Come True” and runs throughThursday.

ACUMA said 340 executives from more than 100 credit unions andCUSOs are expected to attend.
