Like the membership it serves, Marine FCU was willing tosacrifice for the cause, although in this case it was just a pie inthe face. Craig Chamberlin, president/CEO of the $719 millionMarine FCU in Jacksonville, N.C., got the sweet reward after hisstaff and members raised $11,000 to provide a service dog to a4-year-old girl in need. Efforts to raise the money included giftbasket drawings, ice cream socials, blue jean days and sellingmeals, as well as raffling off the parking spaces of Chamberlin andBob Dickerson, the credit union's executive vice president. Infact, Dickerson also got to eat pie on the final day offundraising, as did Chief Operating Officer Jeff Clark and ChiefFinancial Officer Terry Shepard. Marine FCU serves Camp Lejeune andother Marines facilities in North Carolina and Virginia as well asselect business affiliates.
