While fans gear up for the big football game between Ohio StateUniversity and University of Michigan, two credit unions have plansto take the rivalry to another level.

November will mark the second annual “Money War”, where the $120million, 20,000-member Credit Union of Ohio in suburban Columbusand the $446 million, 48,000-member University of Michigan CreditUnion in Ann Arbor compete to raise donations to benefit theirlocal children's hospital.

The rules are simple: the credit union that collects the mostmoney wins.

The collection period for donations will take place Nov. 18 – 26on both campuses and each credit union will donate its collectionsto Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus and C.S. MottChildren's Hospital in Ann Arbor, respectively.

The game is set for Nov. 26 at Ann Arbor.

Last year University of Michigan CU beat out CU of Ohio by just$300. As a result, Credit Union of Ohio staffers dressed inMichigan colors, snapped a picture and sent it to the University ofMichigan CU.

“We've definitely got a plan in place this year to ensure thatthe University of Michigan Credit Union will be wearing scarlet andgray,” said Jill Gerschutz of Credit Union of Ohio. “Nomatter the results, we're glad to have the opportunity to partnerwith another credit union and do some good for ourcommunities.”
