He just may be the nation's oldest credit union director but at101 Harry Hahn of Erie Federal Credit Union in Erie, Pa., iscalling it quits.

Bestowed a host of honors including Volunteer of the Year and aformer director of the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association, Hahnhas formally retired after attending his last board meeting lastmonth as a non-voting director emeritus.

“Let me tell you, Harry may have had a little hearing problembut he was sharp as a tack and asking many good questions,” saidMary Beth Wilcher, Erie FCU president/CEO. “We are lucky to havehim with the credit union as long as we did.”

Holder of the Joseph A. Moore Lifetime Achievement Award, Hahnserved the PCUA board for 15 years and joined the now $342 millionErie FCU following its merger with Hammermill FCU where he had beena director.

Hahn has also been a well-known civic leader and is creditedwith helping the political career of former Homeland Security headTom Ridge, a former Pennsylvania governor.

“Harry will be sadly missed by the entire credit union movementat both the state and national levels,” said Wilcher. “Hisdedication to this industry is unmeasured and very much appreciatedby those of us who came after him.”

She said the centenarian plans to remain active and continueserving the community as a volunteer in a number oforganizations.”

A year ago Hahn married “and now can spend more time with hisnew bride, Theresa,” noted the PCUA. She's 91.
