With the investigation nearing completion, a grand jury is scheduled to hear the case involving the fatal shooting of the president/CEO of the Credit Union of Atlanta by an undercover sheriff's detective by May.

Chief Anthony Ambrose with the Essex County Prosecutor's Office told Credit Union Times that "the investigation is almost complete. The case [involving CU of Atlanta CEO DeFarra Gaymon] will go before the grand jury within the next 60 to 90 days."

Ambrose said that because the investigation is still active, he could not release any details, including if any witnesses had come forward. He did confirm that the undercover sheriff's detective who allegedly shot Gaymon is still working with the Essex County Sheriff's Department, but he was not sure in what capacity.
