UT Federal Credit Union is headed back to where it first openedits doors 40 years ago-on campus at the University of Tennessee,Knoxville.

UTFCU has announced plans to open a new branch on campus in theCarolyn P. Brown Memorial University Center. The new full-servicefacility will offer members checking, savings, loans andcheck-cashing services.

The UTFCU branch will be the only financial institution oncampus.

SEC Tracks Market Risks

The SEC has created a new division to help identify risks andtrends in the financial markets.

The SEC's division of risk, strategy, and financial innovationwill perform strategic and long-term analysis, identify newdevelopments and trends in financial markets and systemic risk, andmake recommendations as to how these new developments and trendsaffect the commission's regulatory activities.

The division will also conduct research and analysis to supportthe functions of the SEC and its divisions and offices and toprovide training on new developments and trends and othermatters.

The SEC has hired University of Texas School of Law ProfessorHenry T. C. Hu as director of the new department. According to theSEC, Hu has expertise in the areas of bank, derivatives, hedge fundand mutual fund regulation, corporate governance, globalcompetitiveness of U.S. derivatives markets, model risk, riskmanagement, swaps and other financial innovations.
