WASHINGTON — Sandford “Sandy” Blitz is the Small BusinessAdministration's new Region I director overseeing district officesin Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts andConnecticut.
|A former Economic Development Representative for the U.S.Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration, Blitzwas responsible for overseeing programs to foster business growththroughout New England. He has also served as the assistantcommissioner of Public Building Services at the General ServicesAdministration and as executive assistant to Mayor Nicholas Panuzioin Bridgeport, Conn.
|Blitz is also currently managing a consulting firm that assistspublic and private institutions in obtaining government grants andloans, the SBA said.
|Nearly 380 credit unions nationwide are now SBA lenders,according to the agency.
