WASHINGTON — CUNA is keeping an eye on lobbying ethics reform that recently passed the House.
A similar Senate bill passed that body earlier this year and a conference on the two bills is expected before long.
"One of the reasons that we're involved with tracking this legislation is because of a key provision on grassroots lobbying," CUNA Senior Vice President of Political Affairs Richard Gose said. "An amendment had been offered to this legislation, and fortunately did not pass. We felt strongly that that would prohibit citizen involvement in the legislative process. We're very much opposed to that."
