KETTERING, Ohio – In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, Day Air Credit Union immediately began accepting monetary contributions from members and non-members to aid in the relief efforts for the victims. All funds collected, totaling $8,479, have been distributed evenly between the American Red Cross and the Disaster Relief Fund of the National Credit Union Foundation. Additionally, every time credit union members use their Day Air Credit or Check Card from September through year-end 2005, Day Air is making another contribution to the American Red Cross equal to 1% of the interchange income. The credit union also supported the Kettering school system in their Hurricane relief efforts by providing complimentary coin counting services.
