CHICAGO-The former head of Chicago Patrolmen's Federal Credit Union has been charged with one count of embezzlement in Chicago, the Chicago Tribune reported Aug. 18. The former CEO and Treasurer of Chicago Patrolmen's Mark Mahoney, 38, has been charged with embezzling around $49,000 from the credit union between 1998 and 2001. Mahoney was fired after the alleged abuses were discovered about three years ago, the credit union's current CEO Scott Arney told the Chicago Tribune. The related losses were covered by insurance, Arney said.
