SALT LAKE CITY – America First Federal Credit Union said it has reached an accord with a Salt Lake City radio station over using a popular talk-show host in its radio commercials after an ad agency for Zions Bank, a CU nemesis, objected to the deal. "The local papers didn't have it quite right, but yes we have an accommodation now to use Doug Wright in our ad campaign," said Brent Allen, executive vice president of America First, referring to the KSL talk-show host. Apparently, said Allen, the Zions agency, Richter Seven, wanted to use another KSL talk show host, Amanda Dixon, for bank ads and the station management called a halt to both Wright and Dixon pitches for purposes of "personal endorsements." "We can still use Doug Wright in the future for voice-overs," said Allen noting America First's current home equity campaign with Wright will wind up at the end of March.
