ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Summit Federal Credit Union and Buffalo Telephone Employees Credit Union announced plans to merge effective October 1. "Our combined resources make us the largest single credit union in the Buffalo area and will provide a great impetus for future growth," said The Summit FCU President/CEO Michael S. Vadala. Currently The Summit FCU with assets of $275 million is the second-largest credit union in the Rochester area. BTECU has assets of $55 million.
