<p>NEW ORLEANS – At its Discovery Conference held here recently CUNA Mutual Group unveiled a human resource and benefits administration portal that it says will give CUs a faster, more cost -effective way to administrate benefits. Known as MyCUbenefitsT, the portal can be fully integrated with a credit union's current system, and doesn't require any new equipment or software. Studies estimate that 70% of H.R. managers' time is spent on administrative tasks, and that H.R. administration costs between $1,000 and $1,700 annually per employee. CUNA Mutual said MyCUbenefits can cut costs by helping HR professionals reduce paperwork; by lowering error rates in enrollment and payroll systems; and others. The portal will contain the following information: </p> <p>Employee data management; </p> <p>Detailed benefits plan descriptions; </p> <p>New-hire orientation; </p> <p>Benefits overviews; </p> <p>Online enrollment orientations and forms; </p> <p>Work/life-event guides; </p> <p>Content searching capabilities; </p> <p>Federally mandated programs; </p> <p>Credit union-wide H.R. communications; </p> <p>Decision support tools, calculators, and educational resources; </p> <p>Credit union handbook and policies; </p> <p>Online surveys; </p> <p>Links to relevant sites; </p> <p>Managers' compliance toolkit. CUNA Mutual teamed with Enwisen, a developer of H.R. communication portals, to deliver the product. Initially, MyCUbenefits is being offered with two levels of functionality. The first "Basic" level offers credit unions access to employee data, carrier plan descriptions, carrier links, six life-event options, educational resources and calculators, news and information, reporting features and other H.R.related content. The second "Plus" level offers more customized and additional content to meet specific needs of many credit unions, including unique branding for each credit union, an employee announcements section, internal job postings, 21 work/life events, H.R. checklists, employee quick-polls, and an online enrollment process. CUNA Mutual is working with Enwisen to develop a third "Premiere" level for credit unions in need of a more integrated package with related H.R. systems, such as automated benefits enrollment, HRMS, payroll, and automated forms processing.</p>
