SANTA ANA, Calif. – Santa Ana Federal Credit Union members on active duty have one less financial issue to worry about. The $50 million credit union has not only complied with the Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act's mandatory rate reduction to 6% but will also delay their loan payments altogether while on active duty. So that its civilian members don't feel left out, SAFCU has also launched a holiday skip payment promotion for the month of December. The program is offered to all members with current loans that are not delinquent and have not had more than two loan extensions in the past year. SAFCU will allow the interest to continue to accrue with the skipped payments and will extend the loans beyond their expected pay-off date. Members can enjoy their holidays, loan payment-free for a processing fee of $20 per loan. Business and mortgage loans are not eligible for the program.
