ARVADA, Colo. – Carroll Beach, president of the Colorado Credit Union System and Wyoming Credit Union League announced he will retire June 1, 2002 after more than 29 years with the Colorado Credit Union System and three years as president of the Wyoming league. Beach was hired as president of the Colorado Credit Union League in April 1973. He has been instrumental in the creation and growth of several CU organizations including Colorado Corporate FCU (now SunCorp Corporate Credit Union); CU Service Network of Colorado Inc.; Colleague Services Corp.; CULAC; and the Colorado Credit Union League Foundation. The Colorado Credit Union League Board selected Executive Vice President James Holt as Beach's successor. Holt joined the Colorado league in May. He has been assisting credit unions through his law practice since 1987. Prior to that he worked with the Kansas Credit Union Association initially as director of governmental affairs and later as executive vice president. "Carroll has created a tradition in Colorado which will prove over time to be a lasting legacy," said Carla Hedrick, chairman, Colorado Credit Union System.
