Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd.’s outspoken chief legal officer Song Liuping has stepped back into the spotlight as the Chinese tech giant pursues patent infringement litigation against rival Verizon Communications Inc. 

“Verizon’s products and services have benefited from patented technology that Huawei developed over many years of research and development,” Song said Thursday in a statement announcing that Huawei had filed two federal lawsuits a day earlier against Verizon in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western districts of Texas.
