Nearly 12 million people have gained coverage through Medicaid or the Children's Health Insurance Program under PPACA, new data shows.

A new monthly report from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services finds that 11.7 million have been covered under the federal programs since expansion under the law went into effect in 2013.

That's in addition to the 11.7 million who gained health coverage through the law's exchanges.
