Long gone are the days when buying legal technology is solely a general counsel decision. Corporations’ legal and finance departments are now more often in sync when it comes to the need for legal technology—and may even be on the same page with what legal technology they prioritize.

The recent Legal Spend Landscape for 2022 report, for instance, found that both corporate departments are pushing for the same types of solutions. The report surveyed 300 senior legal and finance professionals working in the finance industry in the U.S. and UK, published in mid-November by legal spend analytics and matter management company Apperio.
