LPL Financial said Allison H. Mnookin has been elected to its board of directors, bringing the number of women on the board to three out of a total of nine slots.

Mnookin, who teaches at Harvard Business School, has two decades of experience as a technology executive. She most recently served as CEO of online-application software maker QuickBase, which was formerly part of Intuit; before that, she held several posts at Intuit, including as general manager of its small-business division — QuickBooks — and at Oracle.

“I am excited to welcome Allison as a director,” according to LPL Board Chairman James Putnam. “She brings to the board an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong understanding of how businesses have transformed their technology from a utility to a strategic asset.”

Also on LPL’s board is Paulett Eberhart, who has served as president and CEO of CDI Corp., a provider of engineering and information technology outsourcing and professional staffing services; HMS Ventures, which focuses on technology services and real estate; and Invensys Process Systems, a process automation company.

Anne M. Mulcahy, the former chairwoman and CEO of Xerox Corp., is another LPL board member. She also is on the boards of Johnson & Johnson and The Washington Post.

“It is an honor to be elected,” said Mnookin, in a statement. “I look forward to working with the board and management as LPL evolves the digital experience of its advisors and their clients.”

LPL works with some 16,100 affiliated advisors and some $648 billion of client assets.
