New Hire Roundup: FPA Announces Strategic Content Partnerships

This week in personnel announcements and new hires, the Financial Planning Association announced strategic partnerships, and Chris Wilson went to Allianz Life.

Also, the Segal Group added Dr. Sadhna Paralkar; New York Life named Neal Ramasamy a senior vice president; Thakor joined RIA firm Buckingham as Director of Wealth Strategies for Women; and Walter Jospin was named Regional Director of the SEC’s Atlanta office.

FPA Announces Strategic Content Partnerships

The Financial Planning Association has announced the development of a series of strategic partnerships in 2015 and beyond. Under the FPA Business Success Partners Program, industry coaching and consulting companies will generate content specifically for the FPA community.

The industry coaches who are participating exclusively in the program for the next 18 months include Fox Financial Planning Network of San Diego, California; Peak Advisor Alliance of Omaha, Nebraska; and Pathfinder Strategic Solutions of Knoxville, Tennessee. The companies participating in the program will develop original content for the program on a monthly basis, participate in the FPA Annual Conference in Boston Sept. 26-28, write articles for the FPA Practice Management Blog, and more.

Wilson Joins Allianz Life

Allianz Life Insurance Co. of North America has hired Chris Wilson as operations director for project support services in the enterprise operations division. He reports to Andrew Mattson, assistant vice president of enterprise operations change implementation.

Before joining, Wilson was a lead business analyst with Prime Therapeutics LLC in Eagan, Minnesota. Prior to that, he was a senior IT business analyst with UnitedHealth Group in Hopkins, Minnesota. He also held various project management roles with financial services companies including Principal Financial Group, Wells Fargo and Spherion beginning in 2000.

Thakor Joins RIA Firm Buckingham as Director of Wealth Strategies for Women

Buckingham, a St. Louis-based independent RIA that manages or administers $24.7 billion in assets, announced that nationally renowned writer and speaker Manisha Thakor has joined as Director of Wealth Strategies for Women.

In this role, Thakor will focus on addressing the perspectives of female investors and their role in safeguarding their own financial futures. Thakor has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry and most recently ran her own RIA, MoneyZen Wealth Management.

Jospin Named Regional Director of SEC’s Atlanta Office

The Securities and Exchange Commission named Walter E. Jospin as Regional Director of its Atlanta office, where he will oversee enforcement and examinations in a region covering five states.

Jospin joins the SEC from the law firm of Paul Hastings LLP, where he is a partner in the Atlanta office with a practice focusing on securities enforcement, internal investigations, corporate transactions, and corporate governance. Jospin previously worked in the SEC Enforcement Division from 1980 to 1983 in the Atlanta office, where he handled investigations and litigations involving accounting and financial fraud, disclosure violations, insider trading, and other areas.

Segal Group Adds Paralkar

Benefits, compensation and HR consultancy firm the Segal Group has announced the addition of Dr. Sadhna Paralkar as SVP and national medical director.

Dr. Paralkar has more than 20 years of experience in health care operations, clinical analysis and consulting, including the past six years as a health management consultant to Segal.

New York Life Advances Ramasamy

Neal Ramasamy has been elected an SVP at New York Life. He heads enterprise computing services and reports to David Castellani, SVP and business information officer.

Ramasamy has more than 20 years of experience in the field of technology, and joined in 2009 as managing director and chief information officer for RPS. Prior to joining, he was SVP and head of technology for Fidelity Investments’ global brokerage division.
