Personnel Changes: MassMutual, Great-West, Hancock, Others

Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company has promoted Robert Casale and Debra Palermino to executive vice president, from senior vice president.

Casale is the chief information officer at MassMutual, Springfield, Mass., and Palermino is in human resources.

MassMutual also has promoted David Allen, John Deitelbaum, Bill Silvanic, Norm Smith, Trish Walsh and Eric Wietsma to senior vice president, from corporate vice president.

In other personnel news:

- Great-West Retirement Services, Greenwood Village, Colo., a unit of Power Corp. of Canada, Montreal, has hired Todd Champney to be a regional sales director based in Dallas.

Champney, who will work in the Dallas market along with another regional sales director, previously was a regional vice president for the northern Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Memphis, Tenn., markets at the John Hancock unit of Manulife Financial Corp., Toronto (TSX:MFC).

Champney has a bachelor’s degree in English from Texas A&M University.

- John Hancock Retirement Plan Services, Boston, a unit of Manulife, has hired Michael Johnson to be a regional vice president for Atlanta.

Johnson previously was a senior retirement sales representative at Principal Financial Group Inc., Des Moines, Iowa (NYSE:PFG).

Johnson has a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree in business from Kennesaw State University.

- Hannover Life Reassurance Company of America, Orlando, Fla., a unit of Hannover R?ckversicherung A.G., Hannover, Germany, has hired Doug Ingle to be vice president, underwriting research, for its mortality solutions team.

Ingle previously was director of underwriting standards at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, Milwaukee.

Hannover Life Re also has hired Lloyd Spencer to be vice president, research actuary for the mortality solutions team, and Mark Petersen to be a senior pricing analyst in the unit.

Lloyd previously was a corporate actuary at OneAmerica Financial Partners Inc., Indianapolis, and Petersen was plan compliance specialist at a unit of Lincoln National Corp., Radnor, Pa. (NYSE:LNC).
