The executive committee of the American Academy of Actuaries has made Mary Downs the group’s permanent executive director.
Down was named to be the interim executive director of the AAA, Washington, in April.
Downs, who succeeded Grace Hinchman, has been the general counsel of the AAA, Washington, since 2006 and continues to hold that title. She has a law degree from Boston College.
The AAA represents 16,000 actuaries.
