LTCI carrier surpasses sales landmark

In a market that has been struggling to gain traction, one company has passed a milestone.

John Hancock Life Insurance Co. announced it has more than 1 million long term care insurance policyholders across its individual and group lines. LIMRA ranked John Hancock as the No. 1 LTCI carrier by policy sales in 2006,with 86,000 policies sold, and the company got off to a good start in 2007, with first-quarter sales up 55 percent in the individual market.
