Golden State Carrier Unveils Small Group Products

Health Net Inc. has rolled out the Hn Options family of health insurance policies for small California businesses.

Health Net, Thousand Oaks, Calif., says it designed the Hn Options products to appeal to employers orphaned by the looming demise of Pacific Health Advantage, a California small business health insurance purchasing consortium that has announced plans to close.

Small businesses that enroll a minimum of 5 employees with Health Net will now be able to offer Hn Options program members a menu of 10 Health Net plans, including conventional health maintenance organization and preferred provider organization plans as well as plans that cover medical care in Mexico as well as in the United States.

The Hn Options program includes access to health coaches and Web-based health information, Health Net says.

To be eligible for the Hn Options program, small businesses must have at least 75% of their employees enrolled in a health plan, Health Net says.
