There’s been much talk in the industry of late regarding continuing education and accreditation from the CFP Board. With that in mind, November’s Investmentadvisor.com poll asked readers to ranks those areas in which they felt planners needed more education and training.
While there was no majority consensus on a single issue, the area that the largest number of poll respondents identified was estate planning (21%). After that, opinions became more divergent. Compliance issues were identified as most important by 14%. Practice management, tax issues, and the relatively new idea of endlife planning were each chosen by 13% of participating readers. The areas that advisors seem to indicate received enough attention already were marketing and insurance, chosen by 9% and 5% of poll participants, respectively.
