I want to take this time to remind you about a couple of opportunities on which the curtain will be coming down fairly soon.

The first is your opportunity to participate in our exciting Salute to MDRT! that is scheduled for the Dec. 2 issue.

As you know, the Million Dollar Round Table is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its founding this year. In recognition of this great organizations contribution to the industry over the years, National Underwriter is joining the celebration. And we want you, our readers, to be a big part of it by having the chance to express your feelings about the MDRT.

All you have to do is respond to the query: “What the MDRT has meant to me.”

Responses should be sent via e-mail to [email protected].

We may not have space in the magazine for every comment received, but all will be posted on our Web site.

I can tell you that the responses that have come in so far are heartfelt and expressive. I urge you send in your comments by Nov. 20 to be part of this tribute.

Second, our “Events 2003″ supplement will be closing for entries on Nov. 15. This annual listing of leading conventions, conferences and industry meetings will be published in the Dec. 16 issue. It is an invaluable reference for the coming year.

Those who want to submit their event should do it online by going to www.NationalUnderwriter.com, clicking on the “Meetings & Events” icon at the top of the page, and then paging down to “Submit an Event,” where the form can be filled out.

Events will be included in the magazine based on space availability, but all events submitted will be listed as part of NUs Meetings & Events Web site.

Finally, I would like to toast the first-year anniversary of NUs very first e-publication, LTC e-Wire.

This free monthly electronic newsletter, which offers news, features and facts about the long-term care insurance business now has over 7,700 subscribers!

E-Publications Managing Editor Linda Koco and Staff Writer Marcella DeSimone, as well as a host of contributors, have done a superb job of providing valuable market and sales information to the passionate LTC community. This is attested to by a list of subscribers that has risen steadily month after month, based on strong word-of-mouth among LTC producers and marketers.

It has been gratifying to us to introduce a new publication in a new medium and have it so well received. If you havent already signed up and would like to, go to www.NationalUnderwriter.com, click on the online communities icon at the top of the page and then scroll down to LTC, where you will be able to subscribe. Once youve signed up, LTC e-Wire will be sent to you automatically each month.

If you are already a subscriber, then you know how good the newsletter is. Why dont you tell a friend about it?
