Katie Hinderer Returns as Midwest Bureau Chief

ST. LOUIS-Midwest bureau chief Rob Carr will be out of the country while he serves in the US Armed Forces in Afghanistan for the next year. To fill the void until he returns, freelancer Katie Hinderer, a former GlobeSt.com employee, will take the reins as Midwest bureau chief.

“We wish Rob a safe tour of duty in Afghanistan and are honored to have someone from our team serving our country,” says national online editor Ian Ritter. “At the same time, we welcome Katie aboard in his place. She was a valuable contributor during her last stint on GlobeSt.com, and her return couldn’t come at a better time. Our continued coverage of the Midwest is in good hands.”

Hinderer has a background in real estate writing and editing having previously worked as the Northeast bureau chief for GlobeSt.com. She has spent the past couple years as a full-time freelance writer based out of St. Louis.

“I look forward to returning to the GlobeSt.com team and working to keep the Midwest content up to par with the model Rob established,” Hinderer says.

Prior to her stint at GlobeSt.com, which was during 2006-2007, Hinderer worked at Commercial Property News where she reported on the commercial real estate market in the Midwest as well as the office and industrial sectors. Her resume also boasts jobs at the New York Times, the Milwaukee Business Journal and REALTOR Magazine.
