FAIRFIELD, NJ-Garda USA Inc. has signed a lease for 28,800 sf of industrial/flex space, representing the entire building at 210 Fairfield Rd. here. The tenant is a Pasadena, CA-based cash logistics company, said to be the second largest company of its kind in the country, is transferring cash electronically from a total of some 160 locations.

Building owner Woodmont Properties, based in Parsippany, was represented by assistant VP Lori Zuck and associate Adrienne Bzura of GVA Williams New Jersey, also in Parsippany. Garda USA was represented by Fred Brunswick, senior director at Cushman & Wakefield. Terms of the deal were not released, although the lease was described as “long term.”

“We had an extensive marketing program, and that coupled with the building’s features generated a tremendous amount of interest in the property,” says Zuck. “And in terms of meeting Woodmont’s objectives and criteria for the building, Garda USA is an ideal tenant.”

The two-story facility of glass and dryvit is at the entrance to an established industrial park in this Essex County community, near routes 46 and 23, I-80 and I-287. During its marketing, the building had been positioned for telecom use.

“Garda USA committed to a long-term lease for the entire building, primarily because of its location, its high-profile image and its expansive parking lot,” Bzura says.
