NEW YORK CITY-Thor Equities, a national real estate development company, has purchased the Bryant Collection at 25 W. 39th St. for an undisclosed amount, according to a company spokesperson. The seller was not disclosed.

GVA Williams was retained by Thor Equities as the exclusive leasing agent, and has already leased nearly 50,000 sf in the building. The 200,000-sf, 16-story building is one of the most dramatic and prominent buildings in the Bryant Park area, according to a statement.

“This side-street building has avenue elegance, combined with extraordinary architecture and history, which is fueling great interest from fashion and creative tenants looking for exceptional space,” says Christel Engel, senior managing director, who together with Louis Prisco, senior managing director, Eric Lassoff, senior director, and Michael Thomas, associate, all of GVA Williams, is leading the leasing effort.

Polo Ralph Lauren has leased the entire eighth and ninth floors, totaling 28,000 sf, and Lectra USA Inc. leased the fourth floor and part of the third for a total of 19,000 sf. GVA Williams is in negotiations with several potential tenants for the building’s remaining five full floors of available space.

Joseph Sitt, CEO of Thor Equities notes that, “with GVA Williams, the synergies of our respective leasing and management teams will build upon the Bryant Collection. By leveraging the exceptional location and layout of the building, Thor will ensure that it remains a central and thriving part of the Bryant Park area and the Fashion District.”

The Bryant Collection’s current tenants include the luxury watch brand Movado Group Inc., women’s wear designer Rachel Roy, and the designer denim company 7 For All Mankind.

“The Bryant Collection offers prospective tenants the ideal combination of an outstanding location, superb amenities and full-floor occupancy,” Engel says. “With its dramatic high ceilings and exceptional existing window installations, this building is the ultimate location for any tenant in search of distinctive showcase environment or office space.”
