TEANECK, NJ-More than 600 real estate industry professionals will gather at the Marriott at Glenpointe here on Thursday, Sept. 30 for the third annual RealShare New Jersey conference. Headlining the program will be Christopher Christie, US Attorney for the District of New Jersey.

Christie, who will make a special luncheon keynote presentation, has made headlines with his efforts to root out political corruption. Much of the fallout has impacted commercial real estate, and Christie will discuss those efforts and more.

The program also includes a keynote address by Susan Bass Levin, commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, who, after being introduced by Jonathan A. Schein, Real Estate Media’s president & CEO, will talk about the status of the state’s growth management plan and Trenton’s current positions on land use and commercial real estate. Another feature presentation on the slate is Inside the Real Estate Mind, a one-on-one sit-down with Peter Cocoziello, president/CEO of Advance Realty Group, hosted by Michael G. Desiato, editor-in-chief of Real Estate Media.

Headlining the general sessions will be the Town Hall Meeting: New Jersey at the Crossroads. The high-powered panel will include Mitchell Hersh of Mack-Cali Realty Corp., James Postell of Trammell Crow Co., Todd Rechler of Reckson Associates Realty, Jerry Sweeney of Brandywine Realty Trust, Joseph Taylor of Matrix Development Group and Eric Witmondt of GVA Williams. Eric Peterson, editor of Real Estate New Jersey will moderate.

Also on the agenda is a growth management date. Moderated by Thomas Jay Hall of the law firm of Sills Cummis, a panel of public and private sector officials will discuss an issue that won’t go away, from restricted development in some parts of the state to fast-tracked permitting in others.

New this year among the concurrent sessions is Real Estate and City Hall: A Panel of Mayors Speaks Out. Michael McGuinness, executive director of the New Jersey Chapter of NAIOP, will host a group that includes Chris Bollwage, mayor of Elizabeth, Robert Bowser, mayor of East Orange and Douglas Palmer, mayor of Trenton.

The remainder of the concurrent sessions will cover a broad range of topics, from capital markets and structured finance, to the growing mix of sports and entertainment as part of real estate development, what’s next for the office market, the outlook for the industrial and trends in investment sales.

RealShare New Jersey is a production of Real Estate Media Inc., publisher of GlobeSt.com, Real Estate Forum and Real Estate New Jersey.
