ARLINGTON, VA-Sands Capital Management has decided to relocate its offices from 1001 19th St. North, to a 9,500-sf office space at the 530,000-sf Twin Towers property in the Rosslyn/Ballston submarket. The investment management concern will call the building at 1100 Wilson Blvd. home. Terms of Sands Capital’s lease agreement with property owner Westfield Realty have not been released, however class A space in the Rosslyn/Ballston area leases for $31.50 per-sf, according to real estate services firm Advantis Real Estate Services Co.

Advantis stood in for the tenants, while CB Richard Ellis represented the owner. “Sands Capital has experienced explosive growth due to their superior investing results,” Advantis’s Bruce McNair says of Sands Capital’s decision to relocate to larger digs.

The Twin Towers property was developed in the late 1980s and sports ground level retail space leased to tenants such as CVS, and Federal Express. Other office tenants include Allbritton Communications Co., research and consulting firm SRI International, and the US Department of Labor’s Office of the Regional Solicitor. Sands Capital’s space is on the top floor of the 30-story tower.
