Suburb Picks Team to Build $100M Town Center

ORLAND PARK, IL-A cast that includes Mesirow Stein Development Services, New Frontier Cos., The Harlem Irving Cos. and Mid-America Investment & Development Co. has won the assignment of building this southwest suburb’s $100-million Town Center. The 36-acre site is at the northwest corner of LaGrange Road and 143rd Street.

The mixed-use project will be transit-oriented, as it will be built around a new Metra commuter rail station. Besides retail and multifamily development, the project is likely to include a performing arts center. The team was selected six months after responding to a request for proposals from the village.

Mesirow Stein’s most recent work includes The Glen redevelopment of the former Glenview Naval Air Station, as well as University Village on Chicago’s Near West Side. New Frontier Cos. brings experience building or managing 15,000 multifamily units to the table. The Harlem Irving Cos. is best known for developing retail centers. Besides working in that field, Mid-America Investment & Development Co. also specializes in leasing retail properties.
