Sperry Expands in Oregon With Father/Son Team

PORTLAND-Irvine-based Sperry Van Ness, which has grown over the past 18 months from nine regions to 65 regions across the country, has expanded its presence in Oregon with the naming of Carl and Tom Hanacek as senior advisors.

A 28-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry, Carl specializes in leasing, site selection and sales of factory outlet and neighborhood shopping centers. Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness, he was the founder of Hanacek & Co. where he completed transactions valued at $150 million, including land sales for the development of factory outlet shopping centers throughout the Pacific Northwest. He received his MBA from the University of Detroit, and is an active member of the ICSC and Commercial Real Estate Brokers of Metropolitan Portland.

Tom joined his father in the business 18 years ago, specializing in shopping center leasing, tenant representation and site selection. Before the move over to Sperry Van Ness he was a broker and partner for his father’s firm. A graduate of the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, he is also an active member of ICSC.
